There was this news of WhatsApp not supporting blackberry devices anymore, which was not a lie.
It was said to be as a result of misunderstanding between the two companies(Not confirmed) . This action made led to depreciation in the amount of Black Berry users.
This forced blackberry into making Android operating devices, just to meet with their users needs.
Fortunately, those using older blackberry devices; from Blackberry Q10 and above still have the opportunity to run WhatsApp on their mobile.
We conducted a test recently. Our test subject was a blackberry device running Blackberry OS10(Q 10). We noticed that the operating system’s architecture was similar to that of an Android. We thought “since this device came with Google Play store preinstalled, why stick with the blackberry stuffs?” so we tried installing Xender(An android sharing app) and it installed successfully. Then we decided to step up the game a little bit and we installed “WhatsApp” and hurray it installed successfully. We tried using it to send and receive messages which prove positive. We then uninstalled the pre installed WhatsApp just to prevent contradictions.
There were some negative results we received from our test subject, which was:
1. The device switched off itself for some time and refused to come up. But eventually did after certain minutes.(This might apply or not apply to your device. Depending on the architecture)
2. Device is always overheating above its initial temperature while making use of the WhatsApp (Again this might not apply or apply to your device, based on the architecture)
That’s all we noticed apart from the negative results above the device and the newly installed WhatsApp are getting along well.
Notice : This will work for devices running blackberry OS10 and up.
